Men's Traditional Kilt

(for Casual Kilt, see below)

ALL of our kilts are made in Scotland of only the finest Scottish wools from Lochcarron, Edgar, Stratherrick or Batley's mills. We do not purchase or sell ANY products from Pakistan, India, or other similar countries.

                                   Braeriach 13 oz Kilt  $445 - $465.......

         Strome Standard/Select 16 oz Kilt  $445 - $470.......

                Strome 'Rare Select' 16 oz Kilt  $470 - $485.......

NOTE: Reiver weight is offered by some companies, but is NOT appropriate to a man's kilt. The pattern is smaller and brighter and is most suited for household uses and women's skirts. Also, it is only about $10 less than the Braeriach, which is correct. Should you for some reason still prefer a Reiver, please contact us envelope.jpg (914 bytes)

The kilt, the traditional garment of the Scottish highlands, is the only garment that is equally  at home in the battlefield or the grandest event. When in doubt as to what to wear??? Wear your kilt!  Remember, most men purchase only one kilt in their lifetime, so it makes sense to buy the very best that you can - Strome weight.  It will hold the pleats far better than the lighter weights and has the added benefit of automatically producing the traditional eye-catching "swing" of a Scottish kilt.

Our kilts are a full eight yards (nine, if necessary), hand sewn from the finest Scottish worsted wool to your specific measurements. All kilts come with three buckles and are available in various weights....16 oz Strome, 13 oz Braeriach   and 10 oz Reiver (special order).  While we highly recommend the Strome weight (unless you live in a very warm clime), we supply all weights to suit your needs and budget. NOTE: not all clan tartans are available in all weights.

PLEATS - The pleating style results in different looks to the overall kilt pattern (sett). The front of a kilt is the same regardless of the pleating chosen - it only affects the sides/back. So...Pleating to SETT is the most common form of pleating a kilt. This allows the sett of the kilt to flow in a continuous pattern all the way around the kilt. The other option is Pleating to STRIPE which is usually used by military units. In pleating to stripe, the horizontal stripes continue all the way around the kilt but on the sides/rear the vertical stripes will disappear into the pleats and will only show a chosen (usually white or light) strip at the edge of each pleat giving a strong vertical striping effect. The front apron will show that standard sett.  Either option is available to you.

Ordering your kilt is as easy as simply taking a few (accurate!) measurements, selecting your tartan, and ordering the appropriate size. Size is based on whether you need a standard 8 yard kilt or (if over 46" at the waist) you will have to have a 9 yard kilt.  No refunds on custom orders.

        Strome Standard/Select 16 oz Kilt  $290 - $360.......

               Strome 'Rare Select' 16 oz Kilt  $290 - $380......

Ordering your kilt is as easy as simply taking a few (accurate!) measurements, selecting your tartan, and ordering the appropriate size.

The casual kilt is NOT a money-saving "substitute" for the traditional 8 yard kilt! It is suitable for parties, sporting events or just having fun in but with only half the yardage of the traditional kilt, it doesn't hang or 'swing' the same.

If this is what you want, we have the best prices around! Available in 13 oz Braeriach and 16 oz Strome - delivery takes 8 - 12 weeks. No refunds on custom orders.
